empty_cup Posted January 23, 2004 Posted January 23, 2004 Hi, has anyone read the George Dillman book on Kyusho Jitsu? I do JJ, and am interested by it, but wondering if a) other people have practised it for a while b) anyone with reasonable JJ experience has read it? Many Thanks EC You must empty your cup before you can fill it - Zen saying
Tal Posted February 4, 2004 Posted February 4, 2004 Yes! That's a great book, but it takes loads of training to get any of the techniques right. Its also written more from a karate/kempo perspective than a JJ perspective, but you can still apply some of it in JJ. It brings a lot of meaning to karate kata. Its not really a JJ book; hardly any throws or locks in it, but the pressure point attacks kick *. shotokan karate nidanjujitsu shodankendo shodan
kempocos Posted February 11, 2004 Posted February 11, 2004 the way DILLMAN presents some of the info is misleading, you do not need to pinpoint strike. I know a great book on KYUSHO called THE WESTERN BUBISHI you can get it , https://www.combatkyusho.com or https://www.dragonsociety.com you really need to get hands on instruction, on the DSI website check the instructors page there are a couple in the uk who can give you proper instruction.
