 What you're asking is virtually impossible to diagnose on a board like this. I can't tell how your talents are matched, what your technique is, etc. My advice would be for you to feint more, jabs, etc. in order to get him to move his hands. Avoid high kicks that he can grab. I had good luck with a jab up high (which brings the opponent's lead hand up to block), then going in fast with a reverse to the midsection (followed by a sweep or knee). If he has a good defense, then play the waiting game with him...wait till he attacks you, then look for openings, strike, move, and attack while he's off balance. Just keep practicing, and don't get discouraged.

One of the issues with constantly sparring the same person repeatedly is that they pick up on your tells, your openings and the like. Is it possible that there's something like that that he has picked up with you. I would suggest the most simplest thing, just change it up a lot - change sides a lot, shift differently between defense & offense and just try stuff that you don't normally do. See how well he adapts.

Sometimes people are just better than you not much you can do about it.

If he keeps grabbing your leg, perhaps you are not snapping it back quick enough. Hes just waiting for you to throw that same kick. He will keep doing it until you change it up a little. You might try a sweep or a feint before trying to stick that kick. Just remember SNAP it back or it will be grabbed. :karate:

Pain is only temporary, the memory of that pain lasts a lifetime.

If your kick is getting caught you are telegraphing or kicking to slowly. There is also the mental aspect. You need to learn to calm you mind when you spar.

Exactly, and stop being ticked at him for flirting with your woman. She's with you, right??? If she was hanging with him, or she likes him, then kick her to the curb and don't worry about him. But like the other poster said, he might just be better than you. Oh well. You'll have to deal with that all your life. No matter how good you are, there will always be someone better or tougher. Just do the best you can, and don't get angry; learn from your mistakes and improve on your technique.
