NEWBIE101 Posted January 17, 2004 Posted January 17, 2004 I got my black belt in karate when I was 10 years old and am looking to get back into the swing of things again. I'm 17 now, in good shape, and still remember some of my stuff. I look forward to participating. This seems like a nice place. Matt
gheinisch Posted January 17, 2004 Posted January 17, 2004 Welcome to the forums Matt. What style did you get your black belt in? Not to take anything away from you but 10 yrs old seems awful young to achieve black belt. It's great that you are starting back your training. Will you be going back to a Dojo for your training? Thanks for coming to check out the boards. There is a lot of knowledge here to tap into, feel free to ask any questions you may have. NEWBIE101 Posted January 17, 2004 Author Posted January 17, 2004 I believe it was called Shaolin Kempo karate, some sort of kung fu if I can remember correctly. I started when I was 4 and moved up some of the earlier ranks quite quickly. Thanks for the welcome guys.

ESA-Shotokan Posted January 18, 2004 Posted January 18, 2004 (edited) I started when I was 4 and moved up some of the earlier ranks quite quickly. Four years old! My God! That was young!! I started training when I was about 11 or 12 but then didn't start in karate until aged 15. Welcome to the board Edited January 18, 2004 by ESA-Shotokan

Hoju Posted January 18, 2004 Posted January 18, 2004 When you get more advanced, are you gonna change your name to "Moderatebie101" then "Expertbie101?" Just wondering
