LeaF
well first off he's right, the jo did beat musashi... my personal preference is actually the bo, I've always loved it, but I do appreciate the jo as well. I find that the nature of both weapons is quite simular and you could easily apply many of the techniques with either weapon. In praticality, which was the question asked, i would agree that the jo is probably more common, but if one looks hard enough a 6 foot staff is never far off Goju Ryu Karate-do and Okinawan Kobudo, 17 Years Old 1st kyu Brown Belt in in Goju Ryu Karate-do, & Shodan in Okinawan KobudoGiven enough time, any man may master the physical. With enough knowledge, any man may become wise. It is the true warrior who can master both....and surpass the result.I AM CANADIAN
stuey-san
TreeBranch im not saying the bo is sluggish, thats what gonnusuke sed (or thought apparently) when he had to fight the dual swords of musashi, he just needed a shorter lighter more close quarters weapon. Kicking to the head is like punching to the toes
hobz
The Jo never beat Musashi, nothing beat Musashi, hence the reason he was undefeated. However, in their second duel when Gonnosuke was using the Jo they did strike each other at the same time stopping just before connecting. Realizing if they had both connected they would have died. It was a draw, not a defeat. Rule #1: Play the game to the limit. Damn the consequences.
