Terriator Posted January 18, 2004 Posted January 18, 2004 As often as possible Never think that Karate is practiced only in The Dojo. The entire world is a Dojo, and true Karate training takes place twenty-four hours a day./Gichin Funakoshi Sensei
DarkAngel_Azrel Posted January 18, 2004 Posted January 18, 2004 At my dojo we spend more time on kata's and techniques than on sparing. let not the fear of death stay your hand nor defeat your courage. The warrior who will provail is the one who confronts death its self
WhiteLion Posted January 18, 2004 Posted January 18, 2004 DarkAngels right we never get to do sparing but we keep asking to . Just like the phoenix I shall rise from the ashes.
Sho-ju Posted January 19, 2004 Author Posted January 19, 2004 DarkAngels right we never get to do sparing but we keep asking to . Why do you think you only spar once in a while? Do you find kata helps your sparring?
WhiteLion Posted January 19, 2004 Posted January 19, 2004 Im not sure what our sensei is playing at but everyone in our class wants to start sparing and I supose kata helps a bit . Just like the phoenix I shall rise from the ashes.
firesong56 Posted January 19, 2004 Posted January 19, 2004 whitelion is right but i supose there might be a insurance thig they need to do we do not fear death, for we are death inccarenated!may the inner fire never die for it is that can help you ceep going
Drunken Monkey Posted January 19, 2004 Posted January 19, 2004 everyone wants to but how many are ready. you might think you know better but you have to remember the guy at the front does actually know what he is doing. if he lets you spar too early, you risk getting into bad habits and you lose form. if you want to go and fight, you don't need to go to a karate lesson. just get yourself some gear, strap up and spar with your friends. post count is directly related to how much free time you have, not how intelligent you are."When you have to kill a man it costs nothing to be polite."
