WolverineGuy Posted January 13, 2004 Posted January 13, 2004 Got a call for a two day assignment yesterday: Econ and US History at the high school. The Econ classes have been great...they have a review sheet for final exams, and they just got right to work. The US History classes, however, have to watch a movie and take notes on it that will be turned in. The movie? All quiet on the western front. For those of you unfamiliar with this movie, it won best picture in 1929. Yes, 1929. I have to watch this thing three times...anyone care to put me out of my misery? This movie looks old enough to have pioneered the motion picture industry. I told one of the other teachers that if you look close enough, you can see a thumb at the bottom flipping through the pictures. Oy veh...sometimes you get winners...othertimes, you get snoozers. ZR440 Posted January 13, 2004 Posted January 13, 2004 Think of it this way, you were paid to watch a movie. It's happy hour somewhere in the world.
SaiFightsMS Posted January 14, 2004 Posted January 14, 2004 Wasn't there a remake of "All Quiet" with Richard Thomas?
WolverineGuy Posted January 14, 2004 Author Posted January 14, 2004 Eh, you could look at it that way...although I really got paid to surf on the internet. Wolverine1st Dan - Kalkinodo"Shut up brain, or I'll stab you with a q-tip""There is no spoon."
wrestlingkaratechamp Posted January 15, 2004 Posted January 15, 2004 Wow I feel sorry for you. Was it more boring than The Good Earth? lol
aefibird Posted January 17, 2004 Posted January 17, 2004 Watching a movie 3 times?? Hey, I'll do you a job swop for the week. You can come and look after a group of children with severe learning difficulties and behavious problems and I'll watch "All Quiet On The Western Front". Although, come to think of it, that movie is deathly dull, so I'd probably want to kill myself after the first watching of it, so the job swap is off. Can you clear up a mystery for a confused Brit, please??? What's 'Econ'?? Does it mean Economics? Sorry, I'm having a "D'oh!" moment here. "Was it really worth it? Only time and death may ever tell..." The Beautiful South - The Rose of My CologneSheffield Steelers!
WolverineGuy Posted January 17, 2004 Author Posted January 17, 2004 Hehe, yes, its Economics. No problem! And trust me, you're right about wanting to kill yourself after that movie! Wolverine1st Dan - Kalkinodo"Shut up brain, or I'll stab you with a q-tip""There is no spoon."
Reklats Posted January 23, 2004 Posted January 23, 2004 It probably is suicide inducing if its half as depressing as the book. When I saw this thread I thought you meant subbing as in bjj subbing...
