aefibird Posted January 10, 2004 Posted January 10, 2004 Do you prefer a gi/uniform with an elasticated or tied waist-band? "Was it really worth it? Only time and death may ever tell..." The Beautiful South - The Rose of My CologneSheffield Steelers!
Pacificshore Posted January 12, 2004 Posted January 12, 2004 I have both, but prefer the tie over the elastic. Plus many heavy weights just have the tie Di'DaDeeeee!!!Mind of Mencia
WolverineGuy Posted January 12, 2004 Posted January 12, 2004 Umm...probably tie, simply because elastic can cause a lot of irritation. Wolverine1st Dan - Kalkinodo"Shut up brain, or I'll stab you with a q-tip""There is no spoon."
gheinisch Posted January 12, 2004 Posted January 12, 2004 I'll be different, I like the elastic. "If your hand goes forth withhold your temper""If your temper goes forth withold your hand"-Gichin Funakoshi
Rich_2k3 Posted January 12, 2004 Posted January 12, 2004 I have both, but I chose the tie cuz its better than just having elastic and its more traditional . "When my enemy contracts I expand and when he expands I contract" - Bruce Lee
SBN Doug Posted January 12, 2004 Posted January 12, 2004 I prefer elastic, just because the tie always seems to come untied durring techniques practice and sparring. Kuk Sool Won - 4th danEvil triumphs when good men do nothing.
tommarker Posted January 12, 2004 Posted January 12, 2004 I have bigger problems with the cut of the pants than how the waistline is constructed. I'm no longer posting here. Adios.
equaninimus Posted January 12, 2004 Posted January 12, 2004 I tie one on four nights a week! There have always been Starkadders at Cold Comfort Farm!
rb Posted January 13, 2004 Posted January 13, 2004 Ties stay on you when someone is gripping your pants for groundwork. Otherwise sometimes if i don't take the time to tie my pants properly they start to settle a bit lower after an hour. More of a discomfort then them actually falling off. The strings for the pants are flat compared to round cords used on sweat pants. Perhaps there is a correlation between shape and the ability to bind.
