I have searched all over the internet for some kickboxing competitions...does ANYONE have any information where I should go? I'm talking continous fighting...not point/stop...point/stop...etc. Competitions with full contact rounds. If anyone can help me I would appreciate it greatly.

I've been out for a few days so I'll go in order to reply...

Northern Ogre...I'm not looking for "controlled" contact fighting but I also don't want UFC style fighting...I'm looking for FULL contact with low-kick fighting.

Knockdown...I've been to the websites you suggested and as far as I can tell I don't yet qualify to fight in any of their fights...if I misunderstood the rules for joining please let me know.

MMouse...In the club or school that I train in, I'm the only one that is interested in competitions. Everyone else is just in to self defense. But my trainer is setting up some fights for me I just wanted to know about any more that I could let him know about. As far as being a self trained warrior, YES! Before I got a trainer I was self trained and did very well. But I'm smart enough to know that a person can only go so far without a trainer. Even in my business I have trainers for finances and such. And my trainer also told me that I'm the best student he's ever had and that I should have no problem in the ring. So my self training has paid off.

Anytime you want to compete, travel will be involved.

Probably one of the bigger organizations that sanctions

Amature events is the IKF. Their website is at:

http://www.ikfkickboxing.com/

the USKBA does as well, but it is a little more regional

being located on the East coast, lots of fights in NJ and NY:

http://www.uskba.com/

the ISKA does too, but I think they are more geared to Pros:

http://www.iska.com/kickboxing/index.htm

the other thing you could do is check with individual Gyms

that host events. Duke Roufus is an example in the Midwest:

Good Luck!

Oh, there is also the WKA, I do not have their link though.

San Shou is often listed as "controlled contact" but it is really full...kicks to legs, back, punches to head, throws etc. They will just warn you if you constantly punch the head the whole fight, hence the "controlled contact". Usually three punches to the head and then a kick downstairs will keep you from getting into trouble.

Sifu John Funk hosts the Tiger Balm Internationals in Vancouver. He should have a listing for rules under the San Shou category. Check them out and see if you like the contact.
