tufrthanu Posted January 10, 2004 Posted January 10, 2004 I would not recommend pointing your foot backward while doing this kick...that would surely result in a broken pelvis or torn muscles. It should point the same as for a front thrust or snap kick...between straight forward and perhaps 90° to the outside. Long Live the Fighters!

By Kwang Kee. pp 326-328. Sorry about the quality, the images are really close to the binding. Illustrated to show everyone the planted foot. I'm no longer posting here. Adios.
Dave Loche Xi Posted January 10, 2004 Posted January 10, 2004 I have studied Tang Soo Do for years now, and I have very rarely practiced that kick. It helps to be flexible though, in these cases (the pictures)
tommarker Posted January 10, 2004 Author Posted January 10, 2004 well, i didn't exactly take a picture of some random chump doing bit cha ki either I'm no longer posting here. Adios.
ExaltedLegend Posted January 15, 2004 Posted January 15, 2004 we call that a crescent kick in my class and theres to version of it inward and outward in vice versa i can do a high jumping version with it to. Frank DuxRecord Holder of The Kumite.
tommarker Posted January 15, 2004 Author Posted January 15, 2004 Frank, This is a different kick... Unless you do a really funky crescent kick in your school. The direction the leg travels, as well as the striking surface is completely different. I'm no longer posting here. Adios.
tufrthanu Posted January 15, 2004 Posted January 15, 2004 Frank Dux was supposedly the guy that went to that Kumite featured in the movie Bloodsport...he has pretty much been proven to be a liar. So, I dont know if this guy is just playing with you tom but I wouldnt spend too much time on it. Long Live the Fighters!

ninjanurse Posted January 16, 2004 Posted January 16, 2004 Good old twist kick!!!! Love it but can only manage to land it with my right leg for now-still working on the left (it tweaks my old knee just a bit too much!)!
