aefibird Posted January 16, 2004 Posted January 16, 2004 Yeah, shadow boxing is a great training technique and can give you a good work out too if you train hard enough! One combo I train with is jab, jab, reverse punch, back fist, but that's just off the top of my head, I do others as well. I usually use it for footwork training. "Was it really worth it? Coudo Posted January 20, 2004 Posted January 20, 2004 Yup, I shadow box to, I usually try to make up series and vary them alot... I usually do things like evading much, and pretend the series the opponnent would do, I also think its easier to practise evadeing when I shadow box than when I'm punching a heavy bag, since the "pretend opponnent" can move around alot more than the heavy bag !
Rich_2k3 Posted January 20, 2004 Author Posted January 20, 2004 Yeah me too, i'll like to make my shadow box dynamic, it gives better aerobic exercise and makes it feel more real. "When my enemy contracts I expand and when he expands I contract" - Bruce Lee
Tring Posted January 27, 2004 Posted January 27, 2004 I like makin up my own combos The ones which work the bets are the ones where you go for all parts like sweep kick to the ankel Then Right hand punch to the Torso then you can upper in to the chin. Novice
SevenStar Posted January 27, 2004 Posted January 27, 2004 there isn't really one that works the best. sticking with the combo you mentioned, you may run across someone who always keeps his chin tucked and is awesome at defending his legs and torso. BUT, he may tend to let his right hand drop. In that case, your combo is useless. you need to hit him where he's open.
