White_Tiger Posted January 28, 2004 Posted January 28, 2004 I dumped an organization one time, and went independent for a while. I associated myself with the AAU so my students could compete in tournaments if they wanted. I searched until I found an assoicaiton that was not all about money, and could offer something to the students in return for their membership fee. I ended up finding a good one. Good luck to you!
xtremartialarts1 Posted June 24, 2004 Posted June 24, 2004 Being part of an organization is so important. You can share your ideas with other martial arts school's around the country or even around the world. Find out what works and what dosen't. Anyone can open up a karate school. By being part of an organization you will most likely out do your regular small school. Get marketing ideas as well as tips for class manegment. The students don't even need to know. It's better that they don't. Many schools that belong to organizations have over 200 active students. I feel that you will only benifit from joining an organization.
