A "45" is a move that some boxers use and is also called angling. The idea of the principle is to avoid a kick or a punch and set youself up for a nice kick or punch by stepping right or left at a 45 degree angle. If you don't understand ask your insructor about it. It works well if you're real good at it. As for being a small fighter use your speed and counter you opponents moves. Kicks work well because normally you get 2 points for a kick 1 for a punch. 2 kicks and a punch can end a point match aweful fast.

A fast punch and a snap kick always score a fast point, by blcoking you are giving yourself to your oponent in real fight like streets fighters they throw punch widly so you have to lern to sawy move deflect reflect, fast combps fast energy supply, and don't show any expressions to your oponent or he/she can see.

When doing attacks, make it fast hard to let the judge know, and moving your feet keep atedy paste.

A karate punch it is like a dasvasted stick blow. Instead, a blow of Kung Was is comparable to a lash with a chain that has attacked, allaltra extremity one ball of ferro

in regards to the head guard thing, the best i can give you is to just know that it's coming. if someone's tall enough so that that's a distinct advantage, i'd be ready for it and angle a lot. if they are going over your guard, that probably means they're exposing a full rib cage, which is just begging for a side kick or a reverse punch. a lot of this stuff is just stuff you pick up with time and experience.

I'm unsure of how sparring is at your schoo, but at mine, we focus a lot on kicking, and very little on inside fighting. From what I understand, almost all of the schools in my area do this, so what I tend to do is drop my lead hand to present an opening to my ribs/head, then when the kick is thrown, I either blitz them or throw a STRONG side into thier ribs, and then follow up with a jab. Or side-step the kick and use that momentum for a hook punch (a lotta power there). As for your height problem, I wouyld maybe try being super-aggresive and work on the inside as much as possible. If your opponents attacks far outreach yours, then that is your only real option. Make sure you time them, however.

The advice 'The Saint' gave you about using a 45 degree (angle) attack is very good advice. I use that all the time in Olympic sparring, and I teach my students to use it especially when fighting someone taller than them.

I use it in what I call a fade-away. Let's say I'm in an closed stance, my right leg back and my opponent's right leg is back. I'll give a forward feint (fake) then quickly push off with my right leg on a 45 degree angle to the left, while at the same time chambering my left leg. I'll throw a roundhoue kick with the left leg and do the fade-away.... land right leg far enough away from my opponent so that I am outside his kicking range.

Sometimes I won't fade-away and I'll throw a double kick; left leg round followed quickly with right leg round before I even land on the ground.

Another technique would be to skip in with a fake backhand to the head and throw side kick when his hands go up to block the backfist.

you need to really pay attention to your opponents body movement. be defensive and counter attack. work your angles and do not fight in straight lines. be aware what side is forward and really use this against them. become strong with your left side this will help a lot. watch other people sparring and see what they are good at and look for weaknesses. also you may want to try and spar of your back leg this will help the head hunting. almost all of the post made on this board are helpful so use this information and good luck.

When i fight i wait for my opponent to attack and when he tryes to hit or kick me, i get out of the way and strike back a combo.
