Drunken Monkey
not too keen on the 'deadly' tag... it isn't a 'special' move. just a name that fits in with the style that it's from. there's a 'prayer hand' or 'buddha hand' that is so called because of it's position. a 'buddha palm', as far as i'm aware, basically describes a palm type strike that begins with your hand in a postion along your central plane. post count is directly related to how much free time you have, not how intelligent you are."When you have to kill a man it costs nothing to be polite." Jokes aside... what does your post have to do with this particular thread? I guess i'm missing something 'yet again'... There are actually a couple of moves that can be considered a Buddha Palm movement. Fut Gar is known as the Buddha Palm style. Palm strikes can be just as deadly as any other type of fist strike. So yes, a palm strike can be very powerful. jeff The Basics Are The Hidden Secret To Kung Fu Master The Basics.
Prodigal Son
Palm strikes can be just as deadly as any other type of fist strike. So yes, a palm strike can be very powerful. jeff Agreed. In fact I think more so. I find that I can hit people a LOT harder with my palm, and it doesn't hurt a bit. Even with good fist shape, damage can be caused by punching hard things - such as heads. Of course the disadvantage to palms is that you have to be that bit closer to carry it off, but I'm a short range guy anyway. >>>PS<<< ------------------------------------------------------------------------Self-defense is only an illusion, a dark cloak beneath which lurks a razor-sharp dagger waiting to be plunged into the first unwary victim.
