krzychicano Posted February 8, 2005 Posted February 8, 2005 Religion and MA don't mix and I't should not matter who takes MA if they are comfortable with it who are we to judge anyone. What the superior man seeks is in himself; what the small man seeks is in others. - Confucius
seersin Posted February 10, 2005 Posted February 10, 2005 I don't see tha problem,I'm a christian martial artist.So long as a christian dosen't put it before Christ. ISAIAH 53:5
yamesu Posted February 17, 2005 Posted February 17, 2005 If your doing MA for the reasons of avoiding conflict, it wouldnt conflict christian perspectives. Learning MA purely for violence may be a different thing though. "We did not inherit this earth from our parents. We are borrowing it from our children."
BlackBeltHorseRider Posted February 25, 2005 Posted February 25, 2005 Yes, they had picketed. Every so often, they come back. They make up flyers and stick them on the car windshields. The have a "devil" in a Karate uniform, walking around. Man, I could go on and on. So-called Christians are doing this to you? They are not Christians with attitudes like that! Are they not realizing the some CHristians practice martial arts, like me? I will stand--er, sit--her today and proudly say I am a commited Christian and a black belt Karate student in the same body. A Christian Karate student~
Snakeeel Posted February 25, 2005 Posted February 25, 2005 As a Christian I see no conflict between martial arts and my faith. Those that see evil in MA will see evil in everything.
ShotokanKid Posted March 5, 2005 Posted March 5, 2005 Martial arts isn't like it's violating any religious principals. It's kind of like a workout or a sport although true, you may end up using it in self defense. "What we do in life, echoes in eternity.""We must all fear evil men. But there is another kind of evil which we must fear most, and that is the indifference of good men."
Guest Posted March 7, 2005 Posted March 7, 2005 i am not a Christian or religious at all for that matter but i believe that they can still partisipate in martial arts. live and let live
dtstiachi Posted March 9, 2005 Posted March 9, 2005 I am a professing Christian and I have no problem doing martial arts. It is great excersize and I get to be a witness for Christ at my school. "The journey of a 1,000 miles starts with but a single step."
