I know our club does not ptomote any one to shodan below the age of 17, as i had to wait i can understand the need to progress but then at the same tine putting in the time training and getting things better, more focused and faster. squaman you have some very good points, as does every one. thank you all for your time and does any body elese out there have any thoughts. oliver willison

I started when I was eleven and I think that's just fine. I was actually older than most of the kids in the class. Actually, all of them lol. Anyway, I believe 8 or 9 to be a great age. But then again, I have seen horrible 13 year old beginners and phenomenal 6 year olds....it goes on a kid ot kid basis! 1st dan Tae Kwon DoYellow Belt Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu16 Years OldGirls kick butt!
