shotokanwarrior
I know how good grapplers are, but I was just wondering is there any TMA people out there who have defeated a grappler for real? If so tell us about it. Where Art ends, nature begins.
aznkarateboi
Well, Steve Jennum, a ninjutsu practitioner won UFC 3.
SBN Doug
You may want to refine your question a bit. Japanese JJ is both taditional and grappling. Depending on you definition of "grappling", so are Aikido and Hapkido. Kuk Sool Won - 4th danEvil triumphs when good men do nothing.

TJS
Well, Steve Jennum, a ninjutsu practitioner won UFC 3. he won by taking his opponet down and achieving the mount position. he also won a fight or two by arm-bar....sounds like a grappler to me. Warp Spider
I guess it depends how far you want to extend the concept of what's "grappling" and what's not. Surely an armbar or ground submission is grappling but what about a choke? Does throwing someone to the ground and then choking them qualify as grappling? Also as far as traditional/"standup", does that just include punches, kicks, elbows, etc, or does it also include throwing, trips, sweeps? And under what category does things like a fishhook fall? JohnnyS
How many traditional styles teach a strategy of takedown, mount and armbar the same way as BJJ? JohnnyS
Warp Spider, What else would you call throw, groundcontrol and choking other than grappling? That's the very essence of grappling - look at Gracie in Action and that's pretty much all the Gracie's did.
