aefibird Posted December 14, 2003 Posted December 14, 2003 Well, I finally did it; today I passed my black belt test! It wasn't as bad as I thought it was going to be, except for one awful moment when I stood up to perform my free-choice kata and I couldn't remember what it was called! I stoop up, bowed and said "erm...erm...erm...*thinking furiously* oh, Empi!". Cue a red face from me and my instructor rolling his eyes at me and trying not to laugh. Thanks everyone for your support and advice. "Was it really worth it? Only time and death may ever tell..." The Beautiful South - The Rose of My CologneSheffield Steelers!
Gloi Posted December 14, 2003 Posted December 14, 2003 Congratulations aefibird. Who did the grading?
SaiFightsMS Posted December 14, 2003 Posted December 14, 2003 Congratulations. The failures I have seen at black belt gradings have all been due to either failure to break or going blank and forgetting katas.
aefibird Posted December 14, 2003 Author Posted December 14, 2003 Congratulations aefibird. Who did the grading? Thanks! It was the head of my organisation, Sensei Aidan Trimble, who took the grading with a couple of other black belts assisting him. "Was it really worth it? Only time and death may ever tell..."
