catchtom Posted December 12, 2003 Posted December 12, 2003 I just started BJJ 2 weeks ago. I've read almost every article on this forum and found a school about 30 minutes from my house. the academy is upstairs of a building on the second floor. it was a little hard to find but i found it. I was scared but i said what the heck, i'll never learn by staying home. now i wish i had done it sooner. The instructor's name is Mike whom is a super nice guy. everyone was so nice to me i couldn't believe it. i've learned so much and i even decided to quit smoking because i want to get better. Everyone there trys to help the other guy. i love that. its like a big family. i can't wait until mondays class. the cool thing is the moves that Mike teaches really work. wow. i just started and i can do the moves. its so simple and so effective. I just wanted to thank Mike Mrkulic my instructor for everything and i encourage everyone who wants to start to go for it. i'm 30 years old and its great. check out https://www.MBJJ.com. the academy is in Montclair NJ. i'm posting this because i've search all over for a school around my area and couldn't find anything. Thanks everyone here for giving me so much information and courage to start BJJ. this forum is fantastic. thanks once again. Live to learn. I am a White belt in BJJ.

Sorynn Posted December 15, 2003 Posted December 15, 2003 It is great to see you so happy and excited about the new school. Congratulations on the decision to quit smoking. I smoked heavily from the age of 19 to 30, and quit 8 months ago. I wish you luck, it is the single biggest thing you can do to better your long term health. This site helped me, when I was finally sucessful at quitting: https://www.quitnet.org Keep up the good work! And feel free to pm me if you need to vent if the nicotine rages hit you!
