Great posts and very interesting.

For those who are interested in seeing Wing Chun in the ring, there should be something quite interesting at the UK K-1 championship this year!

Two times British Karate Champion will face Wing Chun specialist Kasim Khan under K-1 Rules. (see full clip)

K-1 UK

Sunday 22 February 2004 Wolverhampton Civic Hall

8 man Heavyweight tournament featuring

Shaun Johnson

Nick Sheppard

Simon Demetriou

Mark Russel

Gary Turner

Gordon Minors

Rob Lloyd

Duncan Airly James

Also featurning a rematch between Andy Howson (Bad Company) and Reece Crooke (Trojan), and Mark Lee (Bad Company) v John Wincott. Also, two times British Karate Champion will face Wing Chun specialist Kasim Khan under K-1 Rules

By the way, I saw the original match between Andy Howson and Reece Crooke in October last year and it was a great fight, if it wasn't so far away I would definitely be there!

The fight is in the UK on the 22nd February. The bout will be fought under K-1 rules at Wolverhampton Civic Hall. I don't know anything about the fighters.

I would go, except that it's a little far for me to go and get back in time for work the next day because I don't drive.

The UK K-1 doesn't even seem to have its own website or advertise outside of muay thai gyms. A few posters in major cities or organising coach trips from major cities wouldn't hurt K-1's popularity in the UK...

In the ring, the main difference is the Wing Chun fighter has to

wear glove that to a certain extent avoid 2 things:

a) Sensitivity of palm that generate from "Sticky hand"

b) Normal using of fist because glove block this

But I can say Wing Chun's elbow force that generating help

neck wrestling in Muay Thai.

I have been playing with a guy who practised WC & MT and

lighter than me 20 Lbs has an upper hand on me when

doing neck wrestling.

Hope you guy understand what I am saying

Darkness grants me pair of dark black eye,

Yet I determine to look for Brightness

well, sticky hands isn't actually in the hands.

it's more about understanding and knowing what to do when you feel pressure on your forearms (bridge).

'chi sau'='sticky hands' but you have to remember that in chinese, hand and arm are both called 'sau'.

post count is directly related to how much free time you have, not how intelligent you are.
