BlueDragon1981 Posted December 9, 2003 Posted December 9, 2003 A new search enging called "Dipsie" is suppose to launch in 2004 sometime. It is said that it will search about 3 to 4 times the pages that google does. This is not hard to believe but it is amazing. Google is probably the best engine out there right now and searches a wide number of pages.
kilo Posted December 9, 2003 Posted December 9, 2003 I'll have to see it to believe it. Kendo is like starwars and everyone gets to be Darth Vader."Luke, I am your sensei"
monkeygirl Posted December 9, 2003 Posted December 9, 2003 I agree with kilo, plus the homepage had better be really simple. I hate search engines that are filled with ads and pictures and a bunch of distracting information. 1st dan & Asst. Instructor TKD 2000-2003No matter the tune...if you can rock it, rock it hard.
Patrick Posted December 10, 2003 Posted December 10, 2003 The key is accuracy. Google has slipped a bit recently in that department. Not more results, just more accurate and more valuable ones. stl_karateka Posted December 10, 2003 Posted December 10, 2003 I look foward to seeing it -- if nothing else but for curiosity sake. Is there somewhere I can read about it and check out screen shots? KarateForums.com Sempai
Guy_Mendiola Posted December 10, 2003 Posted December 10, 2003 will this be better than Google next year?
Tombstone Posted December 11, 2003 Posted December 11, 2003 I'm glad. Now we can expect Google to get even better to remain on top.
monkeygirl Posted December 11, 2003 Posted December 11, 2003 You can actually go to http://www.dipsie.com right now and it has some information. Not much, but it's there. 1st dan & Asst. Instructor TKD 2000-2003No matter the tune...if you can rock it, rock it hard.
Cybren Posted December 11, 2003 Posted December 11, 2003 Will Dipsie have a built in calculator and phonebook? I think that's googles most appealing feature. It's "accuracy slip" isn't really a slip. It's just that, when someone clicks a link from googles website, it gets "bumped up". If a million people search for "woodchuck", and all click on KarateForums.com (should it appear at all), it will be the number one result for "woodchuck"
BlueDragon1981 Posted December 12, 2003 Author Posted December 12, 2003 I don't know what all it is suppose to have in it. All I know is if they want to compete with goodle, then they will have to keep it simple and have all the features it has plus more.
