Drunken Monkey Posted December 3, 2003 Posted December 3, 2003 (edited) ...that came to mind. which is better? the 'best' style with the 'worst' teacher or the 'best' teacher with the 'worst' style Edited December 3, 2003 by Drunken Monkey post count is directly related to how much free time you have, not how intelligent you are."When you have to kill a man it costs nothing to be polite."
delta1 Posted December 3, 2003 Posted December 3, 2003 I'm too sober to even give that much thought! I shudder to think...!!! Is taking up bowling an option? Freedom isn't free!
Drunken Monkey Posted December 3, 2003 Author Posted December 3, 2003 just added a couple extra ' marks... hmmm, bowling... another thing where people often confuse brute strength with skill... post count is directly related to how much free time you have, not how intelligent you are."When you have to kill a man it costs nothing to be polite."
stl_karateka Posted December 3, 2003 Posted December 3, 2003 the 'best' teacher with the 'worst' style Why? Cause have the 'best' teacher expands potential and having the 'worst' teacher puts a cap on it. KarateForums.com Sempai
G95champ Posted December 3, 2003 Posted December 3, 2003 The best teacher because no style is bad. (General George S. Patton Jr.) "It's the unconquerable soul of man, and not the nature of the weapon he uses, that ensures victory."

Reklats Posted December 4, 2003 Posted December 4, 2003 What about the deadly art of kung fu feng-shui
Drunken Monkey Posted December 4, 2003 Author Posted December 4, 2003 um, feng shui isn't kung fu... post count is directly related to how much free time you have, not how intelligent you are."When you have to kill a man it costs nothing to be polite."
Icetuete Posted December 4, 2003 Posted December 4, 2003 um, feng shui isn't kung fu... yeah, what Reklats was actually talking about probably was the long forgotten indonesian art of Nasi-Goreng but as to the thread...The best teacher because no style is bad. i agree with what you said, but lets assume "bad" is meant as "the style that does not appeal to you in any way" (except maybe as to being a martial art). what then? but i guess i agree with GChamp anyways because even if i dont like the art, the best teacher will be able to make it fun and get the best out of me and the art.
