Reklats Posted December 5, 2003 Posted December 5, 2003 People like the ufc because it gives them an idea of what works. Delusional thinking that some crazy traditional attacks are going to work in a fight is a bad self defense strategy, buddy.
Drunken Monkey Posted December 5, 2003 Posted December 5, 2003 have you noticed that most people who say that the ufc is the best test of a martial art (or something similar) do or say they do gracie jiujitsu or brazillian jiu jitsu...? post count is directly related to how much free time you have, not how intelligent you are."When you have to kill a man it costs nothing to be polite."
shotokanwarrior Posted December 5, 2003 Posted December 5, 2003 The best edge you have is your mind. Where Art ends, nature begins.
1ONEfighting Posted December 6, 2003 Posted December 6, 2003 LOL. Where did all the posts go? Trainwreck Tiemeyerwishes he was R. Lee Ermey.

You could also look at it on the other side of the spectrum and say all of the guys who constantly talk about how the UFC means nothing and Dosent accuratly represent fights, etc are usually the ones who practice a style that has never been succesful in any type of mixed fighting event.

I'm glad they don't compete. From what I've been told, their style is far too deadly. Trainwreck Tiemeyerwishes he was R. Lee Ermey.
Drunken Monkey Posted December 6, 2003 Posted December 6, 2003 nah, we lose everytime someone points a video camera in our direction... post count is directly related to how much free time you have, not how intelligent you are."When you have to kill a man it costs nothing to be polite."
Treebranch Posted December 9, 2003 Author Posted December 9, 2003 Well if you are not a professional fighter what makes you think you will stand a chance against a highly trained TMA practitioner. Hmm. "It is easier to find men who will volunteer to die, than to find those who are willing to endure pain with patience.""Lock em out or Knock em out"
Treebranch Posted December 10, 2003 Author Posted December 10, 2003 Well I think that any and all things you can think of in "REAL" situation that gives you an edge over your attacker is all good. Anything goes, and it's up to you to figure that out for yourselves. Always keep your options open and train how you live.
