Bdaze
ocassioally you meet someone whos either beeing tough or has a really high tollerance for pain and nothing you do seems to phase them. what do you folks think is the best way to inflict pain on such a person? (preferabley not breaking bones, i know it hurts, but thats not really what im looking for) If in your journey you encounter God, God will be cut ~Hatori Hanso (sonny chiba)

Treebranch
Musha Dori. "It is easier to find men who will volunteer to die, than to find those who are willing to endure pain with patience.""Lock em out or Knock em out"
three60roundhouse
What is "Musha Dori"? I'd say that any "submission lock" would be painful, since they are meant to hyperextend , dislocate, or break a joint! An armbar and a kneebar both snap major joints! A heelhook twists the knee out, a neck crank pops the neck, and so far. I don't think it would be a choke b/c most chokes make you "go out" fairly quickly - I've gotten woozy many a time 1st dan Tae Kwon DoYellow Belt Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu16 Years OldGirls kick butt! Treebranch
It's a lock that locks up the shoulder and is very painful. It feels like your shoulder is going to rip out of the socket. It's done standing and you're kind of in back of them and to the side when you do it. It's kind of hard to explain with words. Bdaze
hahah, yeeeeaaaah mushaidori is painful. hurray for Budo taijitsu i learned a counter where the person steps forward to relieve pressure on the shoulder and then you just sorta dive forward into a maie otosh with their arm still in the lock, dislocating their arm If in your journey you encounter God, God will be cut ~Hatori Hanso (sonny chiba)
Treebranch
You're not supposed to tell everyone how to counter it. So you think it's not painful. Also, do it while stepping on the foot furthest from the lock. HeeHee! ninjanurse
Soft tissue under the upper forearm is quite sensitive-I've seen rather large "tough" men cry after having it pinched. As far as joint locks go I think it varies among uke's due to the variability of pain tolerance, joint mobility, etc. IMO most any lock would be effective on the average joe picking a fight whose joints have not been conditioned through countless repetitions. For myself, I agree with Treebranch...stepping on the foot has a double effect-more counter leverage as they can't change their center of gravity easily enough to counter the pain and a big pain in the foot! Treebranch
Thanks Ninjanurse, and the throw while stepping on the foot will have devastating results. Yuk!
