cross Posted April 6, 2004 Posted April 6, 2004 You should try and correct this habit by focusing on 1 point all the time and using pereferal vision to see everything else that is coming.
Ironberg Posted April 7, 2004 Posted April 7, 2004 If you're staring at a target long enough for your opponent to find out what you are looking at - you are not fighting, you're sizing up. "An enlightened man would offer a weary traveler a bed for the night, and invite him to share a civilized conversation over a bowl of... Cocoa Puffs."
lilsempai Posted March 19, 2005 Posted March 19, 2005 It sounds a bit like part of your problem is your attitude towards your own ability - your Sensei has probably paired you off with your nightmare because he is the only one who can challenge you/you are the only one who can challenge him. Walk your talk - please walk your talk
honour is life Posted April 19, 2005 Posted April 19, 2005 keep fighting! i cant give you any specific tips but the longer you spar the better you will get! if this guy is a challenge then thats all the better! you may freely give up your life, but never lose your honour
unknown Posted May 5, 2005 Posted May 5, 2005 Simplicity is key. Get all that fancy stuff out of your head and just focus on simple and direct combonations when sparring.
Kajukenbopr Posted June 23, 2005 Posted June 23, 2005 2 thigs, : dont let yourself be intimidated by rank or past experinces, that way, you dont lose before the fight starts.2.try moving in response to his hits- learn good counter moves to do a split second after he starts to try to hit you. Also, bring your training up a notch. lots of endurance training. <> Be humble, train hard, fight dirty
Sam Posted June 23, 2005 Posted June 23, 2005 no substitute for epxerience..... but failing that the advice is all good, dont stare at one plac too long, and try and look for a pattern in how they move.
Kajukenbopr Posted June 23, 2005 Posted June 23, 2005 or make it harder for them-learn to change the pattern in which u move; if u get too predictable, they appear to be faster but in reality they're just responding better to ur pattern of movement. <> Be humble, train hard, fight dirty
Sam Posted June 23, 2005 Posted June 23, 2005 also - look for things that telegraph your moves.... maybe you grit your teeth slightly before you attack, etc.then try to stop doing them
