SevenStar Posted November 24, 2003 Posted November 24, 2003 let's compare and contrast these two arts. Obviously, there are some similarities, but there are also a vast number of differences.
1ONEfighting Posted November 25, 2003 Posted November 25, 2003 The Judo gi is much cooler. Trainwreck Tiemeyerwishes he was R. Lee Ermey.
superfighter Posted November 25, 2003 Posted November 25, 2003 ohhhhhhhh of course chinease wrestling, well i always thought that was more ground wrestling like BJJ, whereas judo was more on stand up grappling, like throws and such
1ONEfighting Posted November 26, 2003 Posted November 26, 2003 Shuai Chiao is a throwing oriented style similar to Judo. Trainwreck Tiemeyerwishes he was R. Lee Ermey.
SevenStar Posted November 26, 2003 Author Posted November 26, 2003 SC is very much throwing oriented, they don't do groundwork. The main goal is to throw you and incapacitate you in the process. they strike also, which is one difference between sc and judo. There are more mechanical differences also, like SC tends to steal step and use strikes to break an opponent's balance, whereas judo uses kuzushi, hip loading, etc.
