The True Martial Art

Recommended Posts

If the chimp gets its instincts in a fight I get a tennis racket. Only fair.

About the whole "you can earn a black belt in one year" thing... These people need to realize that a black belt symbolizes mastery of a subject, not just knowing all the moves. In BJJ there might be a blue belt and a purple belt (white blue purple brown black) who know all the same moves, but the purple belt will still win the majority of the time because they've had more time practicing the execution of the moves.

Yeah, a year is way to short for anyone to earn a BB with no prior experience in any other art. Even if someone did have prior experience it would still be a very short time to earn one. I have always understood that a BB represent that you have full proficiency of the MA, it does not signify Master level. Depending on what system you study it should take anywhere form 5 to 10 years to earn a BB. In the end it doesn't really matter what belt you are when Mastery is your ultimate goal.

"well actually chimps couldn't kick our *, they're teeth aren't sharp and they dont have claws, they may be agile but a good kicking to the face will put any chimp in his place."

LOL. How sharp are our teeth and claws?
