ramymensa Posted March 17, 2004 Posted March 17, 2004 In an ideal world we could specify an age requirement (no kids under ... years). We could make some exception if the kid is really gifted and serious. In an ideal world we could throw out kids that are a problem. In an ideal world we could teach the way it was meant to be taught, disciplined and hard. But it's not an ideal world. We need to survive and the MA training is not the same as years (centuries) ago. It's a consumer's society, we need to live and the students want less training and quicker advancement in the ranks. They are no longer prepared to work their b...ts off. The students come more from the younger category (adults are too caught in the earning a living thing to have time for a MA class). The parents are willing to give away the kids to a baby sitter that could teach them some MA. Unfortunatelly they forget MA is not kidergarten Until we'll get to the ideal world (weak chance) we'll have to cope with the situation, make compromises and still try to be real instructors true to our students and to our beliefs.
