hi guys i was wondering what MA school i should take? jow ga kung fu or shorin-ryu karate? thank guys. :D

In all honestly, I've never even HEARD of jow ga kungfu, let alone know anything about it, but I have however been involved in Shorinryu for quite a while and believe it to be a very effective and well rounded system which, to me anyway, covers all aspects quite effectively for any given REALISTIC (note: nuclear weapons aren't included in this) self-defense situation.

That's my 2 cents worth anyway. I don't know how much luck you're going to have finding somebody that does both those systems and can campare the two...but good luck!

id say shorin ryu being i did it for 5 yrs. its a good variety. they will teach you good fighting/sparring strategies you can use on the street, regular karate and combatives. its a good all around martial art.

martialartsreseacher: Can you get any info about the branch of Shorin-Ryu in question? It is about the largest style family among the Okinawan styles.

If you get some extra info, we'll possibly be able to shed some light to the stuff you'll be having there.
