Sho-ju Posted November 8, 2003 Posted November 8, 2003 I just picked up the instructors cane and this thing is amazing. It is a heavy, dense wood. I was doing a partner drill with it and it didn't have a single mark on it. They also sell arnis sticks if anyone is looking for a pair.
tommarker Posted November 8, 2003 Posted November 8, 2003 sounds nifty... i've been eyeing one of their triple grip canes for awhile now. i'm in no rush though, as the cane form is a 4th dan form in our system. I'm no longer posting here. Adios.
Sho-ju Posted November 9, 2003 Author Posted November 9, 2003 The one with sharks teeth is awesome...it adds to the S.D. aspect, using the side of the cane to rank the neck and eyes. I'm sticking with the cane. OSU!
SaiFightsMS Posted November 9, 2003 Posted November 9, 2003 Don't you just love the heft of one of their canes? The neck sized crook is pretty cool too. And not to mention the fiendish point on the end of the crook.
tommarker Posted November 9, 2003 Posted November 9, 2003 did they give you any tips for maintenance of the cane? any suggested oil? sanding? etc? I'm no longer posting here. Adios.
Sho-ju Posted November 10, 2003 Author Posted November 10, 2003 did they give you any tips for maintenance of the cane? any suggested oil? sanding? etc? Rub in mineral oil, polish with 600-grain wet/dry polish sand paper once every two weeks. GM Shuey like to hang to dry but I was also told I could give it a wipe down with a towel and this helps to rid the cane of dirt and oil from the hands. Take a look at this link http://www.gojushorei.com/canes.htm it has pics of canes that are used in this system.
