Icetuete Posted November 8, 2003 Posted November 8, 2003 hey everybody! could anyone please tell me about this style? i know kyokushin, the full contact fighting system, but never heard of this Goshin Jitsu (sub-?) system before. could it be that it is basically the same as Ashihara Ryu Karate? thanks in advance! p.s.: are there similarities between these styles and shotokan karate?
Bl4cKtH0rN Posted November 8, 2003 Posted November 8, 2003 Oss, goshin-jitsu is the defense-personnel's of Kyokushin part, oss! "Someday, I'll be the most powerfull jedi ever..."
Icetuete Posted November 8, 2003 Author Posted November 8, 2003 so this is not the full contact tournament fighting style anymore, but an art of self defense? or does it combine both? and what about ashihara? anyone heard about it?
Bl4cKtH0rN Posted November 9, 2003 Posted November 9, 2003 The kyokushin has Kumite, but he also has the goshin-jitsu, in this training type to defense-personal is more emphasized. "Someday, I'll be the most powerfull jedi ever..."
Kyokushin Posted November 15, 2003 Posted November 15, 2003 There are five areas in Kyokushin in which we work on in training: Kihon (Basics) Kata (Forms) Kumite (Sparring) Go-Shin Jitsu (Self Defense) Renraku (Fighting Combinations) Tameshiwari (Breaking) This is always the areas I've trained in as a Kyokushin karateka. It's not just all sparring. Sempai Emily2nd Kyu-Brown Belt---The true essence of the Martial Way can only be realized through experience. Knowing this, learn never to fear its demands. --- Mas.
