aefibird
Does anyone know of a website that will translate words/names into Japanese kanji? I was looking on the internet for an embroidered black belt. However, several of the companies that I found will embroider belts, but they don't provide translations. I was looking to find somewhere that would translate my name and the name of my club into Japanese characters. Hope someone can help! Thanks!! "Was it really worth it? Jussi Häkkinen
Try Tokaido or - for high quality but reasonably priced - Dragon Associated's Meijin-belts. Both translate (and let you check out if the translation is correct) the text you need. Meijin belts: http://www.dragon-tsunami.org/Products/Pages/belts.htm Tokaido http://www.tokaidojapan.com/ I recommend Meijin for the prices, Tokaido for Shotokan-classic status. There's also Shureido, but it's more for Okinawan stylists: http://www.karatedo.co.jp/shureido/english/e_index.html Jussi HäkkinenOkinawan Shorin-Ryu Seibukan Karate-Do (Kyan Chotoku lineage)TurkuFinland
stl_karateka
http://www.allblackbelt.com/bcustom.html Looks like they embroider and translate, though I have never bought anything from them. I am waiting for my instructor to contact Shureido cause I want the same thing -- straight from Okinawa! KarateForums.com Sempai
Jussi Häkkinen
The very reason I use Shureido's stuff. Well, the true reason is their quality. Incredibly good - and price's not that bad either. Chellechan
If you can't find a place at a price you like, I can translate for you and send you an image of the kanji. Just drop me a note at chelle chan_1@ya hoo.co.jp (with no spaces)
gheinisch
Here's a good site that will translate just about any language. It also will give you the kanji for the words it tranlates. After you look a word up go to the bottom of the page and you will find the kanji link. Sorry, forgot to attach the link. Go to the site and scroll down to the language section. http://www.travlang.com/languages/ Edited November 4, 2003 by gheinisch "If your hand goes forth withhold your temper""If your temper goes forth withold your hand"-Gichin Funakoshi
