the sparring made me very nervous as i had to take off my glasses and i cant see far with out them. :bawling: So when we were sparring i could see her hands but i mange to block a few punchs. i olny did one kick as i couldnt see her when she moved back but as i couldnt see her hands she beat me.

The katas i had to do were the khion kata and the heian shodan im pretty good at these ones so the event wasnt that bad once it started :brow: . I was hoping to get doing the heian neidan but you can olny do up to your belt level. :karate:

Was this an invite only / closed tourny?

Reason I ask is that whole thing about being able to perform your belt level --- I only came across that in closed tournaments

If you are going to keep doing tournaments, you may want to invest in sport glasses. Some people can spar in contacts but I don't like to - its a preference thing. Or, depending on how near-sighted you are -- take you glasses off about 15/20 minutes before you fight and let your eyes start to adjust --- this is what I do, and I have gotten used to fighting without them

Good job though!

If you are in a school where sparring is required or want to do mor tournament activities you should see about getting sport goggles.
