telsun Posted October 25, 2003 Posted October 25, 2003 So where exactly are you, near London? Who you training under? I keep asking God what I'm for and he tells me........."gee I'm not sure!"
hajime Posted October 25, 2003 Author Posted October 25, 2003 Hi there telsun my signature isn't lying I'm afraid. Injury really finished me a few years ago. It really upset me as I wanted to be a full time Karate instructor. however life goes on a few miles north of London. In the ghetto is where I live I have a good memory of my lessons and a reader and watcher of fighting as well 700 hours of official training. Injury finished me dammit!1st Kyu Wado Ryu
Darce Posted October 26, 2003 Posted October 26, 2003 Welcome! What kind of injury? Shukokai Karate, Orange belt ( 7. kyu)
hajime Posted October 26, 2003 Author Posted October 26, 2003 Knees. Started with warmth when kicking. Ended up after years being painful. Not agony but pain I took as a warning about training. I still trained for another 18 months but saw a surgeon who did an x-ray and said it was lack of cartlidge? so the knee bone rubs against the socket too much? anyway point was - no cure. continued stress on knees would increase the pain. Dammit! sorry if my medical description isn't quite right. This was a few years ago and is just a bad memory. Walking out of the hospital feeling rather fed up! I'm all happy now though 700 hours of official training. Injury finished me dammit!1st Kyu Wado Ryu
gheinisch Posted October 26, 2003 Posted October 26, 2003 Welcome, sorry about the injury. I think it's great that you still show a very active interest in the art. I think a lot would have given up!
