aznkarateboi
Karate has groundfighting but I'm sure a good grappler would destroy a karateka on the ground
G95champ
Just as a good karateka would destroy a grappler standing. Whats your point???? LOL did not mean to sound smart. LOL (General George S. aefibird
The problem is that alot of schools dont teach it for some reason. Yeah, which I think is a great pity as it is part of karate. Not in the same way as it is a part of, say, judo or BJJ, but it is still an essential part of training. We practise sweeps, throws and ground fighting quite a bit in my dojo and its something I always enjoy learning. "Was it really worth it? Only time and death may ever tell..." blue26
The styles I have studied have groundfighting. But to answer your question it depends on the style and the instructor. Some instructors don't teach groundfighting. bump "Follow not in the footsteps of the masters, but rather seek what they sought."
cross
We practise sweeps, throws and ground fighting quite a bit in my dojo and its something I always enjoy learning. I enjoy this type of training also. Much different than just standing toe-to-toe pounding each other.
