White Belt

White Belt (1/10)

  1. Low kicks are allowed in K1.
  2. While K1 allows long pants (like kickboxing, karate or tkd pants) why nearly everybody still wears shorts?
  3. Pretty good, but i like to do a longer (extend the leg more)
  4. In your JKD, KM classes how much do you practice trapping? I heard its practised a lot in JKD.
  5. In kyokushin karate is roundhouse kick done with instep, shin or ball of the foot? just interested.
  6. Kick with heel or toe of the shoe to the solar plexus, the soft gap between the lowest rib just above the upper abs is devastating if it hits hard (but you could also throw a punch there) . Once i were sparring with my friend and i threw a side kick with heel to that target and he went down and couldt get up for a couple of minutes
  7. Many people say that in the streetfight, you should only kick below the belt but i have seen bodykicks taught in many realistic self-defence arts like JKD, Krav Maga. I think they are effective because if you kick the opponent to the stomach for example, it leaves the opponent winded (most cases) and you can make your escape or to follow up with another technique. And for another example, sharp roundkick with toe of the shoe to the kidneys will drop most opponents. But, there is risks. One risk with bodykicks is that if you dont recoil the leg quickly enough, i can be grabbed. Please, tell me your opinions. EDIT: Now i mean kicks with the lower leg, not a knee.
  8. If he would be alive, he wouldt be fighting in UFC because he trained for streets and self-defence! From UFC website: Fouls: 1. Butting with the head. 2. Eye gouging of any kind. 3. Biting. 4. Hair pulling. 5. Fish hooking. 6. Groin attacks of any kind. 7. Putting a finger into any orifice or into any cut or laceration on an opponent. 8. Small joint manipulation. 9. Striking to the spine or the back of the head. 10. Striking downward using the point of the elbow. 11. Throat strikes of any kind, including, without limitation, grabbing the trachea. 12. Clawing, pinching or twisting the flesh. 13. Grabbing the clavicle. 14. Kicking the head of a grounded opponent. 15. Kneeing the head of a grounded opponent. 16. Stomping a grounded opponent. 17. Kicking to the kidney with the heel. 18. Spiking an opponent to the canvas on his head or neck. 19. Throwing an opponent out of the ring or fenced area. 20. Holding the shorts or gloves of an opponent. 21. Spitting at an opponent. 22. Engaging in an unsportsmanlike conduct that causes an injury to an opponent. 23. Holding the ropes or the fence. 24. Using abusive language in the ring or fenced area. 25. Attacking an opponent on or during the break. 26. Attacking an opponent who is under the care of the referee. 27. Attacking an opponent after the bell has sounded the end of the period of unarmed combat. 28. Flagrantly disregarding the instructions of the referee. 29. Timidity, including, without limitation, avoiding contact with an opponent, intentionally or consistently dropping the mouthpiece or faking an injury. 30. Interference by the corner. 31. Throwing in the towel during competition. Bruce trained for streets and in the streets, there are no limits but in UFC, there are rules.
  9. Have you ever got hitt bare-fisted to the face? I have (me and my friend were filming a movie and he was supposed to hit me that way i would be looking real and accidentally he hit me really) and it really hurts!
  10. Kicks can be effective. For an example: Its the fact that many bums and crackheads that could attack you in the street wont be using much of kicks simply because they dont know how to kick! So your attacker will propably only use punches and grabs. So you could easily keep him from attacking you because leg is longer than arm so kicking you opponet will prevent him from punching or grabbing you.
