  1. How did you fare against the kofukan fighter?
  2. I use all three also.... depends on the target area. However sparring I also use instep as shin and ball of the foot are pretty devistating. For self defense a full on roundhouse with the shin to your attackers leg will usually render him to the floor & pretty much unable to chase after you.....
  3. Went for the Tokaido....... I tried on the Kamikaze with the intention of buying..... but it just didnt feel right for me...... Anyway the Tokaido is great and Im 100% happy!
  4. OK - Im looking for a new Gi. Im looking for a 12-14oz white cotton Gi, but which in your opinion is best? My short list so far is: Tokaido TSA Kamikaze Monarch Shureido TK10 Blitz White Diamond Which Gi would you go for and why?
  5. I dont think that rank means a thing. I was previously a 2nd dan in Wado-ryu with 10 years behind me when I took a ten year break due to work and family comitments. Having started out with a new club (I moved home) and a new style (Shito-ryu) I was more than happy to start at the begining even though my Sensei said I should keep my rank. I truth I have probably learned more having started back from scratch - Your basics, kion and basic kata are the building blocks of all your Karate and I have gained alot from going back to basics. If rank is an issue then you really should look inside yourself and ask why.
  6. 1. £32 - approx $60 2. Shito-ryu Kofukan 3. Twice a week 4. Courses are free with Chief Instructor Bi Monthly
  7. I have had many Gi's over the years and the best I have had is the Tokaido TSA Gi. This is a heavy weight tornament Gi - has loads of "snap" and feels great to wear - roomy and comfortable! Not cheap though!
