Greek Fighter's Achievements

Yellow Belt

Yellow Belt (2/10)

  1. It's your decision on what you want to do for your life in the martial arts. Some people have lots of time in their hands that they live on studying the martial arts which is not a problem. If they want to pursue a career in martial arts, so be it. You however are studying to be a lawyer and seem to have many goals coming for you that in my humble opinion, those goals are more important to you that you really don't have time to compete. I also think it's very important to keep those goals as they will come in handy later on. Also, if they push you to get in competition, just tell them you're not interested in competing. What are they going to do? What's the worse thing that could happen? Nothing. I never competed either when I was studying. From having a Full Time job and being an artist, it's always important that i have income coming and keep my hobbies as well when I'm relaxing.
  2. Definately. No doubt about it. With the proper skills and acquirements in training, you can definately beat ADD.
  3. I'll be 30 in a month, and still going strong.
  4. I was quite curious about his Ultimate Black Belt Test Program. I wonder how people are liking it? It seems like it's a fun program. It also takes alot of hardwork. However, i heard from some people that he's a bit nasty. Is that true? Did anybody ever go to him?
  5. I really love practicing the martial arts very much because you do get a killer workout and it helps the toning of your muscles. It also helps get rid of your negative attitude towards life in general and helps you achieve a more positive aspect.
  6. Has anybody ever heard of this Italian style martial art?. It's basically a Medieval type of fencing.
  7. I agree with you all the way. Sometimes, it depends on the shape and size of your feet. Everybody's feet is different. Mine are a bit wide from the front and narrow on the back. I use to lose balance when I would shift my weight when doing kata and keep my waist tight so I wouldn't lose balance. This is when I'm in bare feet. With shoes on, it's a bit more convenient.
  8. Who has done this? What is the deal with this? I think it's fake, and then I see people on TV who swear by this. I can't imagine the thought of killing somebody with one touch. It seems pretty bogus if you ask me. What are your thoughts on Dim-Mak?
  9. Awww! I liked him and his fighting style of Hapkido and he stole the show in Billy Jack. He had one if the fiercest kicks I've ever seen in Hapkido. He will definately be missed for sure.
  10. Does anybody out there have any good stories on their experiences of self defense? Who had to use hand to hand or got in any kind of fight? So far, I've been lucky that I haven't gotten into real life or death fights.
  11. It's tough when you get hit on such delicate targets like your fingers or your toes for that matter.
  12. I once was practicing my punching when I was doing Shotokan for a little bit, and popped my middle knuckle very bad. I almost cried, and the sensei I had felt very bad. He then sat me down and got ian ice pack for me. After twenty minutes, it was numb and I continued the lesson. We finished the rest of the lesson with feet. I lived very close at the time and he drove me home. After that, I participated in Tai-Chi instead and loved it. I was hurt bad and was in tremendous pain. He was a good guy, and he said I was welcomed back in Shotokan anytime I wanted to, and I was still a fighter. Shotokan was hard to do. It took my knuckle a few months to heel. Sadly, he got into a bad accident which now has him disabled and was forced to close down his dojo. I haven't seen him since, but know he is no longer capable of training again.
  13. Don't forget Jason Alexander from Seinfeld. He has Black Belts in Tae Kwon Do, Shotokan and Aikido. He's also trained in White Crane Kung Fu and Tai-Chi I don't know if anybody ever noticed, but he's built fairly well.
  14. How many of you prople know about this guy? He's truly an inspiring martial artist. Check him out and tell me what you people think. I guarantee you people will not be disappointed.
  15. Willie Nelson (singer) Black Belt in Tae Kwon Do
