i think it would be hard to say for sure that one is better than the other for certain. i think sampling techniques from both "modern" jiu jitsu as you say and brazillian jiu jitsu would make you better able to defend yourself than just taking one over the other.

i can't think of any jiu jitsu styles that would use weapons but i can say for certain that brazillian jiu jitsu does not.

hey all, nice to be here, alittle about myself. i'm a 19, (20 in 6 days ), year old police science student from wisconsin. i love martial arts.
