  1. Gae Baek does have a twist kick in it. I don't know tae baek - is that what you said? So I guess they can't be one and the same.
  2. Someone does/has done the same style as me.... Cheers bushido man! A twist kick is where you turn your foot out and kick with the ball of the foot. The idea being that you get your foot as horizontal as possible (the difficult bit) or else it looks like a really weird front kick. Does that make sense? Hopefully!
  3. Can anyone suggest anything to improve my twist kick? I can't get the angle of my foot right, it just will not go more than a few degrees off of vertical, and consequently looks like a rather skewed front kick.... I have this kick in my current form, so have to improve it, really. It appears to have got worse rather than better as I have gone up the ranks. I don't usually have any problems with flexibility, either.... Little help, anyone?
  4. The only difference I've noticed, as with most people here, is sparring. However, how the blokes spar the women seems (in my dojang, at least) to be almost entirely down to the way the woman spars, ie if she backs off a lot, complains when hit, etc. then they tend to go slower/lighter, and are less likely to call her over to spar. I tend to go for the "give as good as you get" option, don't complain when hit, get straight back up if knocked down and get in the next hit as fast as possible... and consequently the blokes call me over to spar with them as they do with each other and as far as I can tell, don't hold back or, if they do they certainly hold back a lot less than with some of the less confident (attitude rather than ability-wise) female sparrers. It's entirely down to your attitude and how you come across.
  5. I just got "seductress way" ...
  6. Ah! I always knew that one as a "pop up" ... now I getcha. It would look rather cool - if I was able to pull it off. Cheers!
  7. Some nice ideas there! Thankyou - but I'm not quite sure what you mean by the last bit - after the jump spin hook/low sweep kick....
  8. To clarify: It's a TKD form.
  9. I am doing a free design form in for an upcoming tournament. What kicks/blocks/hand techniques might look good? I realise that this MY design, so am not looking to have it done for me, but a few suggestions for moves that you think look good/might flow well would be much appreciated. They don't necessarily have to be the most difficult, as I think an "easier" technique executed well is much better than a "hard" one done poorly.... Any ideas?
