i would say short because the small guy has nmore area to hit and to tall guy be able to hit tyhe small guy unless u kicks him cuase the small guy would guard his head.

well dont eat loads before karate or you will be full and heavy and wont be able to move very wuick but certainly drink a glass of water and pasta or rice.

heh, i might have to try that. i definately think sandan is harder, its got the kiba dachi in it which i found really annoying as a beginner, and it took me ages to get that 360 turn right. then those sweepy kicks/stamps/things. nidan is just standard basics really, except for the beginning. i agree tht sandan is harder but nidan is not a easy kata and can be forgot quite easily

thats good but if you cant do a part never give up or you will never pass your grading.

You could get back into karate but a soft style would be best and you may have to give sparing a miss or do it very lightly.

Who else feels this way?
al.karate replied to bushido_man96's topic in General Martial Arts Discussion
i fell like that 2. infact very often. all you have to do is keep your head high and dont give up because this happens to everyone someitme. sometimes i dont get anything right in the class and im worn out at the end from frustration and panic. -
I understand what you are saying here. We are told to use it to emphasize a technique. I would rather emphasize the technique by knocking the guy over, or knocking the wind out of him, but that is just me. Not that I want to hurt the opponent, but in my style, we can win by knockout. Sure beats dancing around for two minutes! what you just said is me two. i would rather knock the guy over but sometimes thts not allways the easiest way to win.

i agree with you very much and jiu jitsu can be compared to playing a musical instrument but so can many martial arts.

i have a question:when your fighting where is the easiest place to hit your oppoment to win the point. i have a friend in my class tht allways beats me but i never actully know where to hit him.
