if you do shotokan in my opinion you should follow kanazawa he is the highest grade atm (10th dan). His bassai is the one i practice all his katas are the ones i practice

We have cat, horse stances but no han dpositions in shotokan.

well i passed my shodan at 12 and second dan at 16 and everyone seems to think i deserve it, and i have no problem with jr BBs but under 12 ears old no thats to young!!

12 years old for 1st dan and 15 second dan

i just want my kncules to be stronger so if i ever have to hit a person hard my knucles wont hurt as much. and thatnks for all the info people

I really want to condition my fists to hit harder surfaces than punch bags, and i think the best way to do it is a traditional makiwara. do i have to build one and if so how?

i know 24/26 shotokan kata, and kez why are they bringing in 2 more i dont believe that, that is worng IMO!!!

there is dai and sho, dia is greater and sho is smaller but they are both pretty much the same in lenght!

that is the only explanation i know of aswell, in sho in our club is the spear hand, and dai (which i dont know0 is the ippon ken strike!

Hi people, i have just learnt Gojo-shiho-Sho. but ive found out that some groups call gojoshiho-sho and dai the other way orund. anybody know why?

in my class we black belts train like everyione else unless we are needed to teach others and split the class up
