  1. Nice. Thanks for the info
  2. Damn, not being allowed to stand at all sucks. So you think JJJ is better?
  3. The Ultimate Fighter 3 starts April 6th. I cant wait. Shamrock and Ortiz will obviously be the highlight of this season!
  4. What do you look for in a school and instructor? How can you tell just how good the instructor is? And ensure you will get quality training?
  5. I would have to say they would compliment each other nicely.
  6. Head butts hurt no matter how ya do it, thats all I know. LOL
  7. Which is funny because UFC blatantly allows elbows. Look at the Ultimate Fighter, how Kenny Florian beat Chris Leben with an elbow that opened Leben up. Dana White was fine with it..
  8. Im surprised New Jersey doesnt allow it. Since UFC runs here alot. Unless it just applies to Muay Thai
  9. Thanks. Im gonna visit this school, and see how much sparring and training they do with their JJJ. I know a few of the trainers there have fought in MMA, so Im hoping they do alot of training
  10. Thank you for the advice. Im hoping I have some luck with this!
  11. Thank you for the info tsdkid
  12. Also, this place teaches American Kickboxing, and Japanese Ju Jitsu. While I was looking at BJJ and Muay Thai, because I would like to compete in MMA in the future, the nearest gym to me that has all that is pretty far. This place has JJJ but seems like they enjoy working alot of ground work. And I am not sure how useful American Kickboxing training would be for someone who wants to get into MMA. I know Muay Thai is really effective. Not sure how good American or Joe Lewis style is. The Tang Soo Do comes with the price of everything else,a nd I thought it may help with stand up fighting. Basically, I am looking for something that will be effective in real fight situations. Thanks.
  13. Im still under 25 posts, so it wont allow me to PM anyone. Do you have an e-mail where I can reach you? Thanks
  14. Damn. Looks like Muay Thai is the only way to go as far as MMA
  15. How does Joe Lewish or American Kickboxing compare to Muay Thai as far as MMA? Im familiar with Muay Thai but not so much American. Thanks.
  16. Yeah, I may check it out. The school advertises JJJ, but had some pictures of students using BJJ submissions on each other. I'm hoping this will be good, so I dont have to travel as far to start my training. Atleast not yet. The other place has a competition team, so once I feel like I can start competing, I may jump over and start training with them. This way I will have BJJ, JJJ, Muay Thai, American Kickboxing, and Tang Soo Do training.
  17. Thank you. The school I am looking at, the head instructor has been in it for 25 years. So I am assuming this school is good. I was just curious how well this style works in self defense situations. Thanks for the help!
  18. This may seem sick, but I really wouldnt mind having cauliflower ear. I wrestled all through High School, and while we wore head gear for meets, we never wore head gear in practice. So Im surprised I never got it. I basically would look at my cauliflower ear as a battle scar, and wear them proudly. LOL.
  19. Hello, I was just wondering if anyone knows if Tang Soo Do is a good form to learn? I know its mostly striking. What I was wondering is, if someone who knows Tang Soo Do, was attacked on the streets by someone who knows just as much of another striking form of martial arts, would someone who knows Tang Soo Do fare will in defending themselves? Or is Tang Soo Do more just for show, and useless when it really comes time to defend themselves? Thanks.
  20. Hello, I have a question. Maybe someone can help. Im planning to get started in MMA in the future. I found a place that teaches BJJ, and Kickboxing. But its very far. I now found a place really close to me that teaches Tang Soo Do, Kickboxing, and Japanese Ju Jitsu. What I was wondering is, how does Japanese Ju Jitsu measure up to BJJ? Both in real life scenarios, and in competition? If anyone really knows well, please let me know. Also, how good is Joe Lewis Kickboxing?
