My goal is to survive any attack! -
The knid you hope to never meet!

This depends on your definition of a black belt! A blackbelt has no meaning to me, I am a green tip two and I cam fight and beat many blackbelts!

Punishing students for fighting?
HAPKIDO-KID replied to ArmorOfGod's topic in General Martial Arts Discussion
I think that all martial artists should be taught to walk away, but if the student fights in self defense than his training is working! If a student is a bully he should be banned from Martial arts for life, because he is using his skills ti intimidate others, this is not what MA is about! -

If a judoka fights a karateka, judoka will probabbly win more times, but it is wholly dependent on many variables. Judo or Bjj in the street is unrealistic, but they own sporting MA. There is no way I am going to ground in a street fight! I will be moving and striking! For different places each are stronger or weaker than the other!

Is taekwon do anygood?
HAPKIDO-KID replied to elfordo's topic in TKD, TSD, Hapkido, and Korean Martial Arts
u are correct many TKD places incorporate ground work but its really insufficient. i have grappled many TKD fighters in a traditional BJJ match and ive beaten them all but i have had 6 years of jujutsu training. You have beaten many TKDers in ground fighting...how many have you beaten in Olympic style TKD? -
just a question about TKD
HAPKIDO-KID replied to Bushido58266's topic in TKD, TSD, Hapkido, and Korean Martial Arts
that doesnt make sense, they can get kicked in the head so that cant be the reason they dont have there guard up! -
Are you a 9th dan like me??
HAPKIDO-KID replied to foofies's topic in TKD, TSD, Hapkido, and Korean Martial Arts
I dont trust anything that becomes "americanised" leave TKD korean..if it aint korean it aint TKD...just incorporate HKD in it! -

Is taekwon do anygood?
HAPKIDO-KID replied to elfordo's topic in TKD, TSD, Hapkido, and Korean Martial Arts
I would say that TKD as it stands, is effective against the untrained. Put yourself in a life threatening situation and yopu will find that it just doesnt teach to fight in enough ranges to be called effective SD! -

HAPKIDO-KID replied to foofies's topic in TKD, TSD, Hapkido, and Korean Martial Arts
So you would make TKD into Traditional Karate? Actually TKD is just a Korean versionof Shotokan, most if not all Korean arts were stole...errr....borrowed from Japan. Even Hapkido! -
Are you a 9th dan like me??
HAPKIDO-KID replied to foofies's topic in TKD, TSD, Hapkido, and Korean Martial Arts
I would start by making it a more rounded art..by adding ground fighting...joint locks and more emphasis on close quarter fighting then it has at the moment! -
DimMok
HAPKIDO-KID replied to BlackWolf's topic in Kung Fu, JKD, Wing Chun, Tai Chi, and Chinese Martial Arts
Hapkido teaches strikes to the dim mak points and other vital areas much to he same effect! I dont think it is only one art, if you look closely at any striking art they aim for these areas. It is just that some arts concentrate more on PP and vital area strikes than others, but it is present in every striking art I know of! -
Bum fights is a horrid site..they degrade other human beings!

this is a strange question, are all the punches overhand punches, when you say not looking at where he is hitting is he looking at me at all! I need more information before I can answer this question!

Two art dilema .....
HAPKIDO-KID replied to karatekid1975's topic in BJJ, Judo, Jujitsu, Aikido, and Grappling Martial Arts
You can only give true mening to one art at a time, get your bb in TKD, then venture into JJ. Then choose one art, it is unwise to walk more than one path at a time!
