  1. yes teaching can be very profitable especially if its what you enjoy doing. I am 19 myself and as a young guy i make much more money than my friends... but even more importantly... I love my job! I stay in great shape, meet tons of people, can train whenever I want to, still compete in tournaments as often as i want. the rewards of instruction are vast. I say dont knock it till you try it.
  2. hmm i had this same problem a while back. I started teaching when i was 15, and alot of the students didnt like to show the respect becuase- a. I was a fellow classmate for many years b. the adults didnt like the fact that a young guy was directing them and fixing them. Well long story short, after 4 years now i have come to realize many things about martial arts respect. 1. I was big on the whole- " you better act right or ill give you pushups." never worked... till i gave them pushups. Also if there was a student being rude and disrespectful fine, have them sit and watch the others do something fun, or better yet praise the good students 2. set the example. dont just demand respect on the mat, earn it on/off the mat by the way you act and converse with others. 3. Set the line between friend and student/teacher. to close a friendship with kids and they wil try to take advantage of you. BTW how old are you? hope this helps- -Kevin
  3. I thought Chuck Norris was the master of all arts

  5. So when your opponent strikes you they will be distracted by the fine fabrics so that you may use a devastating blow
  6. buted the knews <--- what does that mean? Well I can help you out with Krav Maga. The whole purpose of Krav Maga is to learn self defense moves that utilize your natural movements. The moves are very easy to understand and learn and are very effective. In my class we will do the Krav curriculm including the techniques and self defense. Then we will work out and do some ground fighting/grappling. Every Krav school is different, and if they are worth anything they will let you watch a class and see what its all about. If you have any questions feel free to ask

  11. I actually got a fortune cookie last saturday that had the message- To teach is to learn twice

  13. I run a TKD school, and the reason most people bash it is because of the McDojo term. Alot of people dont understand that I run a school because I love teaching and helping other people do something that has changed my life, and I can have my dream of running a sucessful business. Its the perfect situation. I am doing two of my dreams in one profession.
