  1. yes however jet li's main martial art has been wushu since age 8. He has practiced all forms of Wushu but he practiced about 6 main styles of wushu. Visit jetli.com for more info on him.
  2. I take offense but shrug it off...if a martial artist can ridicule a school or an art he/she is not a real martial artist at heart. A real martial artist has no need to criticize anyones interests because they should be living for instance the tenets of tkd as closely as possible.
  3. if ur opponent is cornered step back a bit then throw a 360 degree jump spinning back kick, when you land (preferably in front of your opponent) throw a series of hand combinations. It works really well. If you cant do the kick just practice it until you can and for the meantime use a regular back kick.
  4. yes but i come from a karate hall of fame tkd school and thats how long it takes for us...one of my instructors became a blackbelt at 10 and was the number one kickboxer in new england at 15 so i guess al schools are different in their process. My friend who goes to Nick Cerios Kenpo is a second degree balck belt and has been doin it for 12 years so as it seems 2-3 years is to short...also he has many karate championship titles under his belt. But as said before all schools are different. and excuse my use of "joke" above i mean no insult to anyone its just my opinion.
  5. jus to add this to your forum wushu is the martial practiced by jet li...any one who has seen his movies have seen wushu especially in the one when he is doing it on the roof of the building at night.
  6. I believe that the amount of time for a student to reach black belt should be around 5 to 7 years...students who reach blackbelt in two years are a joke...not to offend anyone. I have been doing tkd for 2 and a half years and i am a brown belt...and a fast learner. It takes much longer than two years to gain a bb because you have to learn a life long process of modesty, perseverance, self-control, and indomitable spirit. Also to develop sound techniques it takes training, to develope speed it takes training, to develop the ability to block multiple fast attacks without warning of them, and finally as in my school our balckbelts are teachers and learners alike...who devote themselves to tkd and their students...a two year bb cannot develop this regardless of how much he or she trains or how good they are at learning. It takes TIME!
  7. Does anyone know traditonal black belt rank titles for tae kwon do, im looking for the korean titles NOT first dan etc...
