Korean domination in TKD
foofies replied to P.A.L's topic in TKD, TSD, Hapkido, and Korean Martial Arts
Correct me if im wrong, but when Dan testing you should write an essay about takewondo, combo, techniques or a kick and how it can be devolved. Those paper corrected in Korea. If they find something interesting they might give it to there national team . -
Are you a 9th dan like me??

Korean domination in TKD

sparring with a korean is a night-mare for me. -
''Mr. Jong-Dae Kim, president of Fair Play, said that Taekwondo demanding momentary speed and power is not easy to judge, and that the electronic protector displays accurate scores immediately and it will help Taekwondo games more enjoyable just like basketball , eventually promoting its popularization. "The electronic protector adopted, athletes will concentrate more on accurate power and speed than on feinting or simulation. So their ability will improve much and Taekwondo, which has become one of the most scientific Olympic sports, will be cleaned of stains associated with refereeing controversies," he said proudly. "KTA's new decision will open a new chapter for Taekwondo history, and I'm very glad that my company Fair Play will play a role in it. Besides, I am very pleased that my company has contributed to the growth of Taekwondo."'' That was from http:// http://www.taekwondobond.nl/news/archive_item.asp?NewsID=73

http://www.lacancha.com/histkd2.html What I see that there is no protection, no mats , no nothing. Just the GI. Does any1 know if it was full sparring , or it was point sparring n just kicking lightly . thanks.

TKD - only for tall people?
foofies replied to aefibird's topic in TKD, TSD, Hapkido, and Korean Martial Arts
That is not true!!But, when I started TKD my instructor took my hight from feet to the hip and from the hip to the shoulder. He said its better to have your legs as twice as tall as your upper body --hip to shoulder--. -
Some TKD student told me once that the idea is not getting on the ground. if u did, you are a stuiped tkd student!! lame huh?

Your addictied if you do more than 6 of these • People find it difficult to carry on a conversation with you since you keep shifting between stances and practicing kicks while talking to them. • When tripping over your shoelaces you bounce up into fighting stance with a Kiup. • You answer your boss Ussss • You go to sleep each night cuddling at least one martial arts weapon • You insist on showing your work colleagues your interesting set of bruises on your forearms and shins ever week. • Tell your Rugby playing mate he is a pansy because he won’t train due to dislocated shoulder. • You enjoy limping into work and explaining what injury you got this week. • You shut the refrigerator door with a side thrust kick. • You open doors with front kicks. • Work chairs with high back are really good for practicing turning kicks. • You open a door with a front kick and the door bashes the boss as he is walking in. • The boss wants to know why the department has so many broken chairs. • Switching a light on or off requires a knife hand strike. You shop for clothes based on whether you can kick in them. • The only clothes you'll wear are tight enough to reveal your fit physique but loose enough to spar in (when you get a spare minute). In a boring meeting you start practicing staff techniques with a pencil. • You refuse to wear shoes, and look scornfully aloof on those that need to during class. • As your classmate withers in pain on the floor, you fantasize about the quickest way to put him out of his misery. • You view new students as fresh meat. • You look forward to working another technique line. • You eagerly volunteer to be the instructor’s demonstration assistant. • You believe that one and half hours is far too short for a training session • You say to the shop assistant in the men's store, "Nice pants, but I don't think I can kick in them." You have reached the phase of seeing everybody walking around with blinking little red cross-hairs on all their vital spots • The only way to operate a lift is to backfist the correct floor button on the inside of the elevator, based on your memory of the button's location, before you get in far enough to see it.

I'm sure he didnt practice his back side. If he did he would know that he sux at it

This wasnt supposed to be a style VS style thread thats why I put TKD n Mauy thai as a subject not tkd vs mauy thai. Please keep it this way. Thank you

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sC-bGwYjjlQ I'm not good at analyzing videos, so I thought I share it with you and hear some comments. I came up with some of my own: 1. If the TKD dude didnt miss the back kick, he would have a good chance to win the match. -- I learend form his back side that never do a technique in sparring or in the street that your not good at it -- 2. He was so cool and his ego made him lose. oh Can some one tell me why he was wearing a red belt apove his black belt ?

foofies replied to Dylan.McCullough's topic in TKD, TSD, Hapkido, and Korean Martial Arts
WTF style doesn't has throws !! it has punches, but i wouldnt call them punches if you compare it to a boxer punch.--I think your friend was talkin about ITF TKD-- My advice to you is : don't look for a style or an art. just look for the right instructor at the right Dojang. GOOD LUCK.
