White Belt

White Belt (1/10)

  1. Either you earned it or not. Making you test agian really dosen't seem right. They should know your capabilities by now.
  2. Mine is Patrick Swayze! His is by far number one. He is a very skilled MA and a great actor. Oh, and the hair. Need I say more.
  3. Alot of parents at my Dojo stay and watch their kids at pratice. We even get the parents involved, usually holding pads.
  4. Getting a Black Belt is like getting a drivers license. When I was sixteen I received my drivers license. Did getting my driver's license give me a false sense of securtiy. Well after a few accidents, I learned my lesson. It took years of experience to become a good driver. Just because you have a Black Belt, this by no means make you a master. Some lessons are learned outside of the Dojo.
  5. I've been a member of PMA for a while now. I like it. It is very structured, and to the point. I like how they mix the styles. I grew up doing TKD, and it is alot of fun learning the other styles. I do also train at an invite only dojo in town. Getting a taste of other styles, it really completes the package. I also like the uniforms. They are really comfortable and dry quickly.
  6. If someone was to steal it from you and use it to kill someone, you can't be charged. It is not nelagence on your part.
  7. A knife and 9mm when on duty.
  8. No, but I've been looking as well.
  9. Good point. It takes a while to go from Brown to Black. Thanks for straightening me out.
  10. I've been training for about 12 years total and I just started MMA about a year ago. The school is very big with about 300 students and it offers many different styles. Mainly kick boxing and traditional karate. The school is a franchise and they go through belts about every three months. I train about 8-15 hours a week but some student only about 1-2 hours a week. I enrolled my stepdaughter in classes who has very low selfesteem and is very shy, thinking that it would help her with dealing with obsticals in the real world. When I was in TKD, it took years to earn a belt not three months. The instructors say that it keeps the students focused on a goal.
  11. Good luck and stay focused.
