  1. My girlfriend thinks I have more Leathal Weapons on my body than my hands. It's killing her she says.
  2. Wushu is a performance art. Try fighting against a Karate master with it and you'll learn the hard way. Remember that Karate VS Drunken Fist video? Thats what I am talking about. http://rds.yahoo.com/S=96781308/K=karate/v=2/SID=e/l=VDP/SIG=12h5p8dq4/EXP=1131057476/*-http://www.karatedogojuryu.ch/videofight/KaratevsWingChun.mpg
  3. If you can do WS, you can basically do any martial art. But if you can do Wing Chun, doesn't mean you can do WS. WS is not easy man.
  4. You need a new teacher. I've had teachers like that before, they are wasting your time.
  5. A large percent still do, MMA tournaments are starting in my opinion to create an ignorance towards MA like kung-fu I know what you mean, they are doing nothing but boxing and heavy kicking. I am not a very big guy being chinese, but I thought IF i am as big as them, and knowing what I can do with Kung Fu, I'd have an advantage in these fights. But then again, if i learn Kung Fu, i wouldn't be entering a MMA tournament anyways.
  6. No one can be the best fighter, but he is the person that brought Kung Fu to the world. If not for Bruce Lee, Americans would still think boxing is the only way to fight.
  7. See, the thing is, if a person trains themselves HARD in an performance art that reflects what fighters do, they MIGHT just become great fighters themselves without even realizing it. I know WS guys train HARD, sometimes even harder than kung fu people. The height they can kick, the speed they can move.
  8. WS is like dancing, its an art. An performance art. Not a fighting art. They know that. It is a dancing art that reflects someone fighting. Every dance is a reflection of an activity, like a hard working farmer, or a happy child in school. WS reflects fighters. Its good to look at, and there is a histroy in the art itself. Its is not a fighting art, BUT, so are Hand Sets. Hand sets are for performance, and you pretend to be fighting an imaginary enermy. If you train WS long enough, and understand what the move is for, they can just as easily apply it in a fight. So what is real fighting art? Sparring of couse. But now a days, not a lot of Kung Fu school spar.
  9. Thanks guys. Yes, I do test my skill with my friends. But then again, I don't have a lot of friends that take MA. I am still deciding whether I should enter or not. I want to test my skills, but if rules are against Kung Fu style, I can't test what I've learned. Lows kicks are important for my style.
  10. I believe our body is designed to carry our own weight. So i don't think we'd have any problem sitting on a horse, UNLESS we carry another person on our back or heavy lifting. Our knees should be strong enough to carry our own weight. If not, just walking around would injure our knees.
  11. I honestly don't see how sitting on the horse can cause injuries.
  12. Thats my concern with chinese style sparring too. A lot of what I learn are hits to the throat, eye pokes, nuts, kick to lower legs etc. All of which i can't use in competition. I love how kung fu kicks the other person's leg while he is kicking. Like how WC does, just kick the other guy's leg while is he kicking. But i can't use it in competition.
  13. Totally agree. Its something you'll have to "feel" to understand. Watching videos are useless.
