  1. The key to any advertising is to get it as targeted as possible. Facebook ads can be highly targeted, especially for a local business like a martial arts studio. I'm not a FB ads expert, but have used them a good bit and have a few suggestions for maximizing your results: Target, target, target If you are a local business, limit your target geographical area to your city or county. In addition, you can target specific interests, so if you have a martial arts studio it might make sense to target lovers of martial arts related films... Best of the Best, Bruce Lee films, Bloodsport, etc. Classics. Go for page likes or run a contest I haven't had much success with facebook ads that link to my website. Conversion rates are almost zero because people are on Facebook to hang out and see what's going on with their friends, not join a website or place an order. But you can pretty easily get them to "like " your page, then you can engage with them with your posts over time, building a relationship. Do you have a customer list already? If you have a customer or email list, upload it as a custom audience in Facebook ads, and then target an ad to it for page likes. Yes, they're already customers so they might not be able to spend more money with you but read on... you'll get a LOT more likes from existing customers. I've got this running right now and have added 50% more likes to our FB page in 2 days. ONCE you have a lot more of your customers and friends liking your Facebook page, run an ad targeting friends of people who already like your page. They're much more likely to like your page and engage with you since they're friends are customers. And they are a great potential source of customers, because they can ask their friends for recommendations. Hope that helps, good luck with your campaign![/b]
  2. Dale wasn't in the best shape, so I can see how he couldn't move a 140 lb zombie that was laying on top of him. He was too concerned with the Z's mouth and left its hands unattended. Decayed bony fingers could probably rip into an abdomen... there are no bones to go through. For the most part I really liked the episode, with the exception (as mentioned above) of the beth side story. I guess the point of that was to drive lori and andrea apart further? Maybe Andrea will be leaving the group soon? There are rumors about Shane so who knows. I haven't read all the comics but it doesn't seem like they're sticking to the story line very strictly and if they deviate more it will probably soon.

    Self Study?

I just thought too about asking a sensei from one of the schools if they do one-on-one training (like tutoring). Paid of course. Do you think any of the instructors at schools 40 minutes away would train me like one day a week for a couple hours (I would pay them appropriately of course)?

    Self Study?

I have a slight predicament. About 15 years ago I started training in a dojo with a wonderful sensei who trained in a blend of karate and other japanese styles. He was very spiritual and taught just as much about the spritual aspects of martial arts as the self defense. I was 10 at the time. We soon moved to Georgia, and in my are the only place to learn was an ATA Tae-Kwon-Do school. I quickly rose through the ranks over about 2 years and by the time I was 13 I was competing and having a blast. I had an injury and had to quit for a while, and soon after the school closed. The only other place in my town is a combat karate school that teaches absolutely no self discipline or control. The students just see it as an opportunity to learn how to kick... err... you know. The closest school of any quality is at least 40 minutes away. I'm already going back to college to finish my business degree next quarter, and will be driving 40 miles to school (one way). I can't also drive that far in my off days to study martial arts. I have a family - 2 small kids - and just can't be gone *all* the time. So I'm presented with a dilemma. Does anyone do self-study? Books, videos, short courses? Can you learn and progress on a self-study tract?
