Yellow Belt (2/10)

  1. i only was worried because it is rather big. About 300 students. But no, they dont hand out belts like candy...my 1sy dan bb test was hard as hell...so i dont think it is... heres the website: https://www.unitedtkd.com
  2. thats not a bad price...
  3. how do you know if your tkd school is a mcdojo because im becoming worried...
  4. my tdk school gave out free uniforms to new students...lol i wouldnt call it bad though because weve turned out alot of olympic competitors. My master was us coach of the year twice and we have this kid bernard posey who got 2nd in the jr olympics and josh coleman who's on the olympic team... i dont think its a mcdojo
  5. hmm...im 14 and i started taking tkd when i was 11 and i got my 1st dan when i was 13 and im testing for my 2nd dan exactly 1 year after the 1st (this october) so three years to get to bb and 1 year between 1st and 2nd dans and 2 between 2nd and 3rd and 3 between 3rd and 4th and so on
  6. i hate them too. At my club we have to buy our own sparring equipment...and that can cose like 300 dollars but anyway, yeah, chest protectors suck.
  7. I have no clue... that doesnt make any sense to me. At my school, you learn all the basic blocks in stead of self defense at the white belt level.
  8. Yeah i do like it. Its diffrent from any of the taeguek poomses ive had to learn.
  9. I cant get directiong from my school i keep forgetting to ask. You can chect mapquest... ill try to get back to you
  10. I just finished learning koryo. It isnt that hard after all!!!
  11. Thanks Iceman. Everyoned advice was very helpful
  12. Ok. Ill get directions later today and get them to you
  13. Yes, quite a lot of repitition.
  14. I recently tested for my blackbelt in TKD (WTF). At my school, after you take the blackbelt test, you have to wear a blackbelt with a white stripe running down it until you learn the blackbelt form (koryo). After that, you get your belt with your name embroidered on it, ect. I have learned a little over half of the koryo poomse, I'm at step 18, where you side kick and elbow and then turn the opposite way and do a groin strike. Anyway, i was wondering if anybody had any tips for learning that poomse and any common mistakes i should watch out for. There are 30 steps right?
  15. Its staurday november 19th at Forsyth country day school. Its in their gym which has like 3 levels. Ill email you the directions if you need it.
